Zmajska Releases Its First Pale Ale and Porter

Breweries

In September 2014, Zmajska pivovara introduced its first Pale Ale and Porter in Zagreb. Contemporary reporting describes their public presentation at Tolkien’s House on Opatovina, where the beers were served on tap. Zmajska had been founded in 2013, and the beer launch marked its arrival in the market. Founder Andrej Čapka came from Croatia’s homebrewing community and had established the Pivarstvo.info forum. The launch connected that community with a commercial brewery operating its own production facility in Zagreb’s Trešnjevka district, adding pale ale and porter to Croatia’s developing craft beer scene.
