Pulfer Is Founded with a Zagreb Base and Contract Production
In 2016, four longtime friends founded Pulfer: Ozren Manojlović, Hrvoje Galić, Matej Jurčić, and Darko Kožina. A profile published that July identified Zagreb as the business base and Kučan Marof, near Varaždin, as the place where its beer was brewed. The founders initially used rented capacity in another brewery, bringing Pulfer to market before establishing their own production plant. Its early offering was Pulfer Pale Ale, while a stout was still in development. The founders divided brewing, visual design, sales and distribution, and administration among themselves, with Kožina serving as brewmaster. Their initial focus on American and English beer styles gave the new venture a direction within Croatia's growing independent brewing scene.
