BrewDog Enters Administration and Its Core Assets Are Sold

Breweries

On March 2, 2026, BrewDog’s principal UK business entered administration, and Tilray Brands acquired selected assets for £33 million through a pre-packaged sale. The transaction included the BrewDog brand and intellectual property, its British brewing operations, and 11 strategically selected bars. Punk IPA and other BrewDog beers therefore continued under new ownership rather than disappearing with the collapse of the former operating company. The restructuring resulted in the immediate closure of 38 bars and the loss of 484 jobs, while more than 700 positions were preserved within the acquired operations. BrewDog’s Equity for Punks shareholders received no return from the administration process. The sale closed an important chapter in the brewery’s history, connecting its rapid expansion through customer investment with the eventual failure of the company that those investors had helped finance.
