Brewfather Is Launched
In 2018, Norwegian homebrewer and software developer Thomas Gangsøy launched Brewfather. He developed the application after beginning to brew at home in 2015 and looking for a detailed way to design recipes, plan brew days, record batches, and compare results across successive brews. Brewfather combined recipe design, inventory management, batch tracking, brewing calculations, and fermentation monitoring in a cloud-based application accessible across different devices. Its early 2018 development already included mobile-friendly recipe and batch management as well as integrations with digital hydrometers, illustrating the growing connection between homebrewing, software, and connected brewing equipment.
