Medvedgrad Opens Its Brewery and Beer Hall in Zagreb
On December 22, 1994, Medvedgrad opened a small brewery and beer hall at the corner of Savska and Vukovarska streets in Zagreb. Beer brewed on the premises was served alongside food, bringing production and hospitality together in one venue. Brewing continued at the Savska location until 2005, when production moved to Mokrice. Medvedgrad developed as a family brewing business with a particular emphasis on Bavarian and Czech lager traditions. Its original Zagreb establishment preceded the Croatian craft brewery launches of the 2010s, providing an earlier example of small-scale brewing linked directly to a beer hall.
