Brewderschaft Trier Is Founded

In 2022, homebrewers in Trier, Germany, formed Brewderschaft Trier, a loose association representing the homebrewing community of Germany’s oldest city. The group brought local brewers together to share ingredients and equipment, taste one another’s beers, and exchange feedback at regular gatherings. Brewderschaft Trier made its first appearance with its own stand at the Trier Beer Festival in October 2023. Following specifications from Kraft Bräu brewer Sebastian Nguyen, participating homebrewers created different interpretations of modern bock beer. The beers were sold for charity, establishing a model the group continued at later festivals: the proceeds from its festival beers are donated to charitable causes.
