Georg Fürst And Lukasz Wiacek Begin Homebrewing Together

In 2015, Georg Fürst and Lukasz Wiacek began brewing together in Wiacek’s kitchen in Berlin. The two had met at a bouldering gym and shared an interest in whiskey. After learning that whiskey production first required a fermented beer-like base for distillation, they experimented with brewing and decided to continue making beer instead. Their early equipment included a mulled-wine cooker, which they used to brew a beer hopped with Chinook. They returned to the kitchen on weekends, repeated recipes, compared the results, and studied how ingredients and brewing processes affected their beer. These homebrewing experiments became the foundation of the brewing project later known as Fuerst Wiacek and connected their amateur beginnings directly to Berlin’s modern craft-beer scene.
