Eremita Braukunst Begins Selling Beer

Breweries

In 2016, Benjamin Wezel registered a brewing business and began selling a single beer, marking the commercial beginnings of Eremita Braukunst in Birenbach, Baden-Württemberg. A precision mechanic by trade, he had started brewing in 2014 after watching a television documentary about beer. The move into sales turned his brewing experiments into a business. In 2017, he met Carola “Ola” Seibold, who became his partner in life and brewing. The small operation subsequently expanded beyond its original 50-liter brewing system, developing a range of beers made by hand.

  • Manuela Brandenburger. “Leidenschaft fürs Bier.” Hochzeitsfieber, 2023 edition, p. 30 (PDF page 16). Founder interview explicitly distinguishes first brewing in 2014 from business registration and the start of sales with one beer in 2016; also documents meeting Carola Seibold in 2017 and the original 50-liter system.

  • Kraft Bräu / Trierer Bierfestival. “Eremita Braukunst (Birenbach).” Corroborates the 2014 brewing roots and Birenbach location; does not separately date the start of commercial sales.
