Birrificio Lambrate Is Founded In Milan
Birrificio Lambrate was founded in Milan’s Lambrate district in 1996. The brewery’s own history states that, when it first poured beer in 1996, it had three partners, produced two beers on a 150-liter system, and opened its venue on alternate days. Lambrate became one of the reference points of the early Italian craft beer movement. Baladin describes 1996 as the symbolic birth year of Italian craft beer and names Birrificio Lambrate, Baladin, and Birrificio Italiano as three producers that deeply influenced the sector, while PUNCH describes Lambrate as Milan’s first brewpub and one of Italy’s first microbreweries.
