Tipopils Is First Brewed By Birrificio Italiano

Styles

Tipopils was first brewed by Birrificio Italiano in 1996. Birrificio Italiano describes the beer as born in 1996 and as the first dry-hopped pils in the world, while the brewery’s history states that Tipopils and Rossoscura were its first two beers when the brewpub opened to the public in Lurago Marinone. Tipopils became one of the defining beers of Italian craft brewing. Birrificio Italiano describes it as the beer that set an example and gave rise to the brewery’s long history, while Beervana connects Tipopils to the later idea of Italian Pilsner and describes Agostino Arioli’s use of dry hopping in a pale lager as central to its influence.
