Pelicon Launches Pally Pale Ale in Ajdovščina

Breweries

Pelicon dates the commercial launch of its first beer, Pally Pale Ale, to November 2013, after a year of preparation and experimentation. Based in Ajdovščina in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley, the independent microbrewery became part of the country’s developing craft beer scene. The beer had already received a public presentation before that launch. A contemporary report from the Municipality of Ajdovščina records Pelicon introducing Pally Pale Ale at the Pivomanija festival on October 19, 2013, alongside an IPA and a stout. The report also describes the beer tastings organized by Anita Lozar and Matej Pelicon that preceded the festival. Pelicon’s launch grew out of this local activity around tasting and brewing a wider range of beers.
