TankBusters Is Founded as a Polish Contract Brewery
In 2019, brewers Michał Gref and Kamil Dworczyński founded TankBusters with Aleksandra Garcon. Gref and Dworczyński had developed their skills through homebrewing and professional work at several Polish breweries before meeting at a contract-brewing facility. The new project adopted the contract model rather than immediately building its own brewhouse, allowing the founders to concentrate on recipes, fermentation, quality control, and branding. TankBusters became part of a second generation of Polish craft breweries shaped by contract production and contemporary American-inspired beer styles. Its first releases included Orange Dry APA and New IPA Vol. 1, followed by heavily hopped ales and pastry sours. The brewery emphasized direct involvement in production rather than merely licensing recipes, while its name referred both to the founders’ battles with brewing equipment and to the fermentation tanks they regarded as central to beer quality.
