Funky Fluid Is Founded in Warsaw
In October 2018, Michał Langier, Karol Mizielski, and Grzegorz Korcz founded Funky Fluid in Warsaw, Poland. The company began as a contract brewery, developing its recipes and producing them at several established breweries rather than operating its own brewhouse. The founders brought experience in brewing, beer sales, and festival organization, and quickly built a broad portfolio around experimentation with hops, fruit, yeast, and other adjuncts. Funky Fluid became known for heavily hopped ales, adjunct-rich imperial stouts, and intensely fruited sour beers. Its Gelato series translated the flavors and textures of ice cream into sweet-and-tart beers made with substantial fruit additions and ingredients such as lactose, vanilla, and marshmallow. The series established Funky Fluid as a prominent European representative of the modern smoothie- and pastry-sour movement.
