The Zomerdijk Brothers Found Moersleutel Craft Brewery

Breweries

In 2016, brothers Pim, Tom, Rob, and Max Zomerdijk founded Moersleutel Craft Brewery in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. All four came from technical backgrounds and brought an engineering-oriented approach to brewing. After early experiments with different beer styles and ingredients, their first Moersleutel Barrel Blend, an Imperial Stout, marked the beginning of the brewery. Moersleutel developed around the brothers' idea of combining brewing with engineering, using technical knowledge and purpose-built equipment to refine production. The brewery became particularly associated with strong Imperial Stouts, barrel-aged beers, and hop-forward IPAs, establishing itself as a distinctive producer within the modern Dutch craft-beer movement.
