White Dog Brewery Begins Commercial Contract Brewing

Breweries

In 2018, White Dog Brewery made the transition from homebrewing to commercial contract brewing in the Netherlands. Founded by Ricky Maertzendorff and based in Dordrecht, the business took its name from his West Highland White Terrier, Westie. The commercial launch followed two years of brewing as a hobby. White Dog developed its recipes for production at other breweries, a model that allowed it to sell its own beers without operating a dedicated production brewery. Its brewing interests extended from traditional Belgian styles to contemporary hop-forward beers. The brand later developed a range that included IPAs, fruit-heavy smoothie sours, and pastry stouts.
