The Sisters Brewery Is Founded in Breukelen
The Sisters Brewery was founded in Breukelen, the Netherlands, in 2015, following homebrewing by Annamijn and Josefien and their father, Wilfran Beijeman. Named after the two sisters, the project placed their involvement at the center of its identity and sought to bring a female perspective to the craft beer market. By August 2015, Queen Bee IPA and Drone porter were already on sale, and the family was crowdfunding to expand the business. The Sisters Brewery used the brewing facilities of De Fontein rather than operating its own production brewery. This contract-brewing arrangement enabled the family to bring its beers to market under a distinct brand.
