Brouwerij Kees Opens In Middelburg
In 2015, Kees Bubberman opened Brouwerij Kees in his hometown of Middelburg in the Netherlands. Bubberman had previously been a passionate homebrewer before beginning his professional brewing career at the regional Emelisse brewery in Zeeland in 2007. During his time there, he developed a particular interest in British- and American-inspired beer styles. Brouwerij Kees later continued to emphasize both established beers and experimentation. In 2018, it became the first specialty-beer brewery in the Netherlands to switch its production completely to cans, which protect beer from light and oxygen. The brewery subsequently organized its beers into four ranges: Core Range, One Off’s Series, Barrel Projects Series, and Brewed With Friends.
