Robbert Uyleman Starts Uiltje in Haarlem
In 2012, Robbert Uyleman started the brewing venture that became Uiltje Brewing Company in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Initially a contract brewery, it developed beers using other producers' brewing facilities. Hop-driven IPAs and experimental recipes became central to its identity. The Uiltje bar opened in Haarlem in 2015. The following year, the company acquired its own brewing equipment, helped by a successful crowdfunding campaign. The transition gave Uiltje a permanent production base after its first years of contract brewing.
