Teri Fahrendorf Founds the Pink Boots Society

In 2007, American brewmaster Teri Fahrendorf founded the Pink Boots Society during a 139-day guest-brewing journey across the United States. As she visited breweries, Fahrendorf met women brewers who often believed they were the only women working in their profession. She began collecting their names and contact details, creating a network that allowed them to find and support one another. The Pink Boots Society developed from that informal directory into an international professional organization. Its first in-person meeting took place during the 2008 Craft Brewers Conference, and its work expanded to include education, scholarships, mentoring, and professional networking. The organization gave women in the brewing industry a visible community and helped address the isolation and limited access to professional opportunities that many had experienced.
