Schwarze Rose Begins Commercial Contract Brewing
At the beginning of 2019, Schwarze Rose began brewing commercially at partner breweries in Germany. The project grew out of a group of friends whose shared apartment in Bingen was known as Schwarze Rose. Exploring beers together, including IPAs, stouts, and sours, led them to experiment with recipes of their own. After developing beers on small brewing systems, the group moved to larger batches through contract brewing at local breweries. This arrangement connected its recipe development with commercial production while retaining the Schwarze Rose identity. The brand subsequently became associated with Mainz and continued to develop new recipes on a small scale.
