The First Baltic Porter Day Is Celebrated

On January 16, 2016, the first Baltic Porter Day brought drinkers together to celebrate the style in Polish pubs. The initiative came from brewer and beer educator Marcin Chmielarz, who wanted to introduce Baltic porter to a wider audience in Poland and abroad. He drew inspiration from Stout Day and the celebration of Grodziskie beer. The occasion developed into a recurring celebration built around pub tastings, brewery releases, and conversations about porter. By giving a strong, dark regional beer a shared date in the calendar, Baltic Porter Day created a public focus for enjoying and discussing a tradition that many drinkers had previously explored mainly at home.
