BreWskey Opens in Old Montreal

Breweries

In 2015, three friends with a shared interest in food, beer, and whisky opened BreWskey in Old Montreal. The original establishment combined pub food with a broad drinks program, including beers produced for BreWskey through contract brewing. Its name joined “brew” and “whisky,” reflecting the founders’ plan to build a venue around both drinks rather than begin immediately as a conventional production brewery. Four years later, BreWskey expanded with the opening of its Taproom in 2019. The larger space incorporated an on-site brewery, allowing the company to move from contract production to brewing its own beers at its Old Montreal premises. BreWskey subsequently operated several connected hospitality spaces and developed a changing range of beers served alongside its food program.
