Hoppy Road Begins Brewing in Maxéville
In May 2017, Hoppy Road began production in Maxéville, in the Nancy metropolitan area of northeastern France. Julien Pecheur, Lucas Del Biondo, and Charles Sanner had created the company in June 2016 and spent the following months preparing their commercial brewery. Pecheur and Del Biondo had developed the project after years of homebrewing, with Sanner joining them as a cofounder. The brewery's early range combined hop-focused beers with fruit-flavored and dark, roasted-malt beers. A public inauguration followed on September 30, 2017, several months after brewing had begun. Company formation, the start of production, and the public opening were separate stages in Hoppy Road's beginnings.
