Hopfenfänger Opens Its Own Brewery on Bremen’s Überseeinsel

In October 2019, the Bremer Braumanufaktur established its own brewery on the former Kellogg factory grounds on Bremen’s Überseeinsel. The business, known for its Hopfenfänger beers, had begun in 2014 by brewing its recipes at other small breweries. The new facility gave it a production base of its own in Bremen. Markus Freybler’s brewery initially occupied a former changing-room area of the factory. This brought brewing into an industrial site undergoing redevelopment beside the Weser. The 2019 opening preceded the company’s later move into larger premises at the Reislager in 2024, marking the transition from brewing at partner facilities to operating its own brewhouse.
