Camba Bavaria Is Founded As A BrauKon Showroom

In 2008, Markus Lohner founded Camba Bavaria in an old mill on the banks of the Alz in Truchtlaching. It initially served as a showroom for his brewery-equipment company BrauKon, allowing customers from around the world to see the brewing systems in operation and experience the range of beers that could be produced with them. The name “Camba” has been associated with two brewing traditions. Camba explains that the word historically referred to a room in a monastery where brewing and baking took place, while another published interpretation derives it from a Celtic word for a brewing kettle, comparable to the modern mash tun. The successful test beers helped transform the showroom into a brewery known for producing both traditional Bavarian beers and international styles.
