Brauerei Hans Schieffer Is Founded in Trier

Breweries

In 1915, the brewery later known as Brauerei Hans Schieffer was founded in Trier, Germany, under the name Brauerei Eduard Schieffer Söhne. It became Brauerei Hans Schieffer GmbH in 1939 and Brauerei Hans Schieffer OHG in 1944. The brewery was located in Trier’s historic city center on Simeonstraße. The Schieffer brewery was heavily damaged during the Second World War. It eventually closed, together with its taproom in the historic cellar later incorporated into the Karstadt building, during the second half of the twentieth century. The available public sources do not provide a sufficiently reliable exact closure date.
